What a week. It started with alarms and alert text messages about the fires in the area. Evacuation notifications were going out at 3am and being updated every 30 minutes. Needless to say, we didn’t sleep much that night and remained on edge, basically until Thursday. Luckily the fire was finally under containment and power was restored to the county. It was a rough week, but we made it through.

In other news — can you believe it’s already November?! Where in the world did this year go?! Thanksgiving is coming and then Christmas will be here and then it’s 2020!! Thinking about having less than 60 days left in the year is lightly overwhelming, and even a little stressful, but it also makes me excited. I LOVE this time of year. The holidays are my absolute favorite and I love getting a fresh start at the beginning of the year.

Now is about the time I start thinking of my gift wrapping theme and start to my gift guide round-ups. So far I have quite a few ideas so start expecting some holiday content here pretty soon! I’ll be sending out a new gift guide at least once a week until Christmas. Have any special requests? Leave a comment below!

best sellers

Button Front Suede Skirt — this skirt is so perfect for fall. Wear it with a t-shirt and booties like I did here for a super easy, yet put together, look.

Off the Shoulder Jumpsuit — a new favorite for me! This jumpsuit is the best material and comes in a few basic colors. You can wear it off both shoulders or just one and it has little thumb holes on the sleeves. I can’t say enough good things about the fit of this — if you’ve been looking for a basic jumpsuit this one is for you!

Brown Leather Sandals — I got these from Target over the Summer and they have been a go-to ever since. You can wear them with everything from a maxi dress to shorts.

Scoop Neck Tank — this is a closet staple. So perfect to layer or even wear on it’s own. Plus you cannot go wrong with that price point.

V-Neck T-Shirt — another staple item. This is basically my uniform — throw on a v-neck tee and jeans and you are good to go. The material of this one is perfect; so soft and slightly stretchy. Plus I love the rolled sleeve detailing.

recipes we tried

Ground Chicken Tacos — we tried something a little different this week; mostly because I was feeling lazy. We did one pound of ground chicken in a pan on the stove and then added half a jar of salsa with a little chicken broth and let is simmer for a while. We usually do something similar to this in the slower cooker, and I didn’t feel like making taco seasoning, so it seemed like a good idea to try! Well, turns out it was delicious! I will totally be making this again — and you can change it up by using different salsas.

Chili with Turkey Dogs — we make that same basic chili recipe again except I also added a can of white kidney beans. Then we grilled some turkey dogs, cut them up into bites and threw it in the chili. It was just the treat I needed this week.

Chicken Apple Sausage — we also grilled up thee chicken apple sausages this week. I cut mine up and threw it over a bed of brown rice pasta and sprinkled it with a little fake cheese. It was actually pretty darn delicious.
